Introduction to Pinterest
Well I guess I should start with a stern ticking off to myself for not writing on here sooner, this month has just flown by! So what have I been doing that I was so busy?!
The answer is pretty much - trying to learn (I'd love to say master, but no where near that yet!) social media and promotion of Mystical Rainbow.
I have been discovering that you can use Pinterest for something other than losing hours out of your day when you go to look for one thing. Honestly, I never knew! I have boards on my personal pinterest that are specifically for crafts I love but will never have time to get around to trying! Probably because I spend so much time browsing on Pinterest!!!
So I have started a business board for Mystical Rainbow and have been learning all about keywords and how search engines function. It is all so complex and yet so beautifully clever. Pinterest searches allow small businesses to show up alongside mega companies, so if you search for a rainbow scarf, your results might include Marks and Spencers, New Look, Sports Direct, but they might also include Mystical Rainbow and other unique independent stores from around the UK. How awesome is that!
My biggest win for this last week is finally working out how to make my Pinterest 'pin' link straight through to my shop. Now if you look at one of my pins and think i'd like to know more, you can (not the older ones unfortunately, there were done before my light bub moment!) click on the image and it will direct you straight to the Etsy product listing, store page, blog post, whatever it is you wanted to see. I am incredibly chuffed with myself - hoping this will be a bit of a breakthrough for me.
Whist I am keeping myself busy making new products, sharing content on Facebook, Instagram and now Pinterest, I am still incredibly quiet on the sales front. I know that I can make this work though so I need to keep on learning and keep on applying my new skills.
In the meantime I have got a tad fascinated with painting Rainbow Doodle Art canvases!
Here are some pics of the latest one I am working on...
